Lester Evans

Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. and MFA Incorporated - Inducted in 2006

Lester Evans was first elected to the board of Producer's Creamery Association in 1967 and has served as chairman at the local level for over 20 years.  Producer's Creamery consolidated with other cooperatives in 1968 to form Mid-America Dairymen.  Lester served on the Mid-Am Board from 1976 to 1998, when Mid-Am joined with three other cooperatives to form Dairy Farmers of America.  The U.S. Secretary of Agriculture appointed Lester to the National Dairy Board in 1986, where he served as Chairman from 1990-1992.  In 1994 he was elected to the MFA Incorporated Board of Directors and served as chairman of the MFA Board beginning in 2001.

Lester's deep commitment to cooperative principles is embodied in the standards he sets for excellent member service and superb member representation.  Lester never forgets that each member is important and the cooperative's fundamental purpose is to serve the members.
