Vernon Gage Co-Mo Electric Cooperative - Inducted in 2003 Vernon Gage started to work at Co-Mo Electric Cooperative in 1958 as an accountant, was appointed the general manger in 1980 and continued in that capacity until his retirement in December of 2002.
In the 44 years Vernon worked for electric cooperatives he went above and beyond the call of duty. He was an individual that placed no boundaries on his time or involvement to get the job done. His leadership has been very instrumental in the development of the cooperative program in Missouri and at the national level. Vernon is a charter member and first president of the Missouri Electric Cooperatives Employees Credit Union; he served on the boards of directors of the Missouri Institute of Cooperatives, Central Electric Power Cooperative, Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. |
